The temple is worshipped even today and has persisted all over the years. There were extensive renovations done in the early 19th century that include the addition of towers and ceiling paintings.

The surrounding Virupaksha temple is plenty of dilapidated mandapams. There was an ancient shopping centre interlined with mandapams in front of the temple.

The gates of this temple will be opened all over the week but you have to visit only in mentioned time intervals starting from 9 am to 1 pm is first to shift and again from 5 pm to 9 pm to the night is the 2nd shift.
