The tower is one of the tallest among all temple towers in Andhra Pradesh. The height of the temple is 120 feet and 9 floors that were constructed at the time of Chalukya period the reign of Chalukya Bheema

The temple Mandapam has 72 pillars and made of the black stone. Inside the Gokarneshwara, Garbhalaya and Vigneshwara are there and Kshiralingam is in the center of the temple and right side Subramanya Swamy and Janardhana Swamy.

History of Palakollu Ksheera Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple:

There are so many legends for this temple; the first one is Upamanyu, the son of sage Kaushik asked Lord Shiva for milk supply. So that he can carry the rituals during festivals. Lord Shiva is filled with the Ksheera Pushkarani tank with Milk Ocean. From that time this temple is known as the Ksheerarama.

Other is Lord Rama along with Sita and Lakshmana had worshipped Lord Shiva at this spot. Once Maharishi Agastya told Lord Rama that complexion has become black after killing Ravana (who is Brahmin). So that Lord Rama takes the dip in holy water and installs Shiva Linga. After the installation of several Shiva Linga, they decided to visit the Gosthani River. Sita asked Hanuma to acquire it but Hanuma has not arrived on time. So that she made Shiva linga with sand and snails and did Puja.
